Why, Yes, I'm Having a Summer Romance with the Illusions D'Ombres De Chanel Collection for Fall 2011 - Makeup and Beauty Blog

Fall makeup always makes me think of doing fall-ish things, like sipping hot cider (or maybe a niggling eggnog) by the fireplace or the forest-called-for stove, carving pumpkins (which I've only washed once or twice), or skipping downwards suburban sidewalks by huge piles of orange and yellowish leaves, and kick 'em up (SWOOSH!) every in one case in a while with the tips of my thigh-high suede boots. 🙂

Since summer's but but begun, however, I'll have to wait a while earlier the eggnog shows up at Trader Joe'southward, but I won't have to wait to wearable fall makeup, not with so many lines launching their limited edition fall stuff early on. Seriously, adjacent year we'll be celebrating Christmas in July!

To blur the lines betwixt the seasons, and to ease our transition from summer makeup to autumn, a couple of the lines have been sprinkling autumn pieces into their collections that also wait great right now, like Chanel did with the new Illusions D'Ombres De Chanel.

The launch is ripe with autumn-ish smokey shades and night metallics (NOM!), just there'due south too a scattering of products I could easily see myself wearing with a slip dress and sandals, like, now.

Take these here, for example…

Illusion D'Ombre Long Wearable Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme

Illusion D'Ombre Long Wearable Luminous Eyeshadow in Fantasme ($36) I love how that silver glitter shimmers in direct sun, and could it be whatsoever easier to use? One or two layers on my lids with a fingertip — that'due south all there is to information technology. I swear information technology even makes me look less tired because of how it lightens up the dark area at the inner corners of my eyes. There's been some churr out in that location about fallout from the glitter, and I see some of it, too, right beneath my optics and sometimes on my upper cheekbones. That'southward probably the biggest mark against Fantasme, but I think information technology all depends on how you lot feel about glitter and where it does and doesn't belong. This may sound strange, only I actually like the fashion this glitter gets around (to a betoken). It just seems to autumn in all the right places — nigh similar I've also applied a shimmery highlighter.

Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in Khaki Platine

Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in Khaki Platine ($29) Remember Rose Platine, that killer taupey beige liner from Chanel Spring 2011? Khaki is similar her golden dark-green, taupey sister. Wait — hear me out! 🙂 I know it sounds unusual, just like Rose, this flossy pencil liner gives eyes a subtle glow. A dash along my upper and lower lash lines, a quick curl from a lash curler, maybe a little mascara for expert luck, and I swear I look similar all glowy and well rested. Paired with summery coral cheeks and lips, it's perfection. No joke.

Rogue Coco in Plumentis

Rogue Coco in Plumentis ($32) If you lot happen to have naturally pigmented lips (like mine), accept a gander at this plummy pink. Information technology'south lovely with nude lip looks, and it plays really well with MAC Development Revolution Lipglass. 🙂 The tiny flecks of glitter also requite it some kick.

Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Pampille

Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Pampille($32) I'g still deep in the grip of a sheer gloss phase, and although I think I've seen this plummy pinkish with silver sparkles somewhere else before, I gotta say — I like the way information technology looks, especially on height of Plumentis lipstick. Take your tabby to work 24-hour interval

Exercise you work in a pet-friendly environment? Tabs keeps me company now, but Furry friends weren't immune at the office I worked at in the urban center.

I bet it would be such a blast to piece of work in an role filled with pets.

I have a feeling I'd take to appoint in some serious gravy bribery to get Tabs on lath, though. He loves humans, merely he's got a dominant streak when it comes to other kitties getting upward in his space. He would be the function thug!

Maybe if he had the tallest cat belfry in the office, from where he could survey the other cat workers… 🙂
